Assignment: Review of Behavioral Theories, Application of Theories to Health Issue in Selected Population (Paper) Instructions:

This week you will investigate the Week 5 theory (Social Cognitive Theory) as it relates to your selected health behavior problem/selected population. Review and summarize academic papers that use the social cognitive theory to examine the risk and protective factors for the health behavior issue. Also, how the theory has been used to develop and/or evaluate health promotion or prevention efforts in the chosen population.

Explain the usage of social cognitive theory in understanding the behavior (i.e., etiology research) among the population you chose.

Review at least two scholarly academic papers that include the application of social cognitive theory to understand the (risk) factors contributing to (predicting, causing, correlating with) the health behavior. Additionally, the correlation(protective) factors that are with less of the behavior. Lastly, how they have improved understanding (or not) of these risk and protective factors.

Summarize your review of this literature.

• Explain the usage of social cognitive theory was to change the behavior (i.e., intervention research) among the population you have chosen.

Review at least two scholarly academic papers that discuss how the usage of social cognitive theory to develop. Also, evaluate health promotion or prevention efforts. Also, how well they have apply, and the success of these efforts to prevent or reduce your chosen health behavior problem. Summarize your review of this literature.

• Analyze the overall effectiveness of utilizing social co‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍gnitive theory in the understanding and development of interventions. This should be related to your selected health behavior issue for your selected population.

• In addition to a summary of your review of the literature reviewed in the text, please create a table. The table is not inclusive in the page count and should be after your reference page as Table 1.

The table should include the following headings: Citation (in correct APA style), Population (the population the intervention focused on), Theory and/or constructs used (theory[ies] and/or constructs from theories discussed in the article), Outcomes (as they relate to the theoretical constructs). Please note that you should be reviewing at least four academic research articles.
