The role of corporate culture in business ethics

Description

You are expected to base your essay entirely on the two assigned articles (see attached).

There is no requirement to consult any other sources. But if you do consult any other sources, you must include them in your bibliography and provide references if you cite them. Instructions: Your objective in your essay is two-fold: 1) to explain to the reader (who, you assume, has not read the articles) the main argument(s) of the articles as they relate to the questions below, and 2) to explain to the reader your opinion about these argument(s) and why you hold this opinion.

Below is the structure that your essay should follow with the questions each main paragraph/section should address.

Topic: The role of corporate culture in business ethics: defense and critique. First paragraph: short introduction briefly introducing the topic of your paper (3 to 4 lines). Second section/paragraph: What is the role that corporate culture plays in the ethics of a business, according to John Graham? You cannot discuss every point he makes about this, but be sure to discuss “the culture of character” and the role of the “leader”. This should be your longest paragraph. Third section/paragraph: What is the essence of Hewlin, Dumas, and Burnett’s critique?

That is, what are they criticizing/putting into question and, in particular, how does it apply to the arguments Graham makes in his article? There is much empirical evidence presented and discussed in this article—but your focus should be on the conclusions they draw from this evidence. Fourth paragraph (around 200 words):

What are your opinions about 1) the role of corporate culture (in particular, the culture of character and the role of the leader) in the ethics of a business, and 2) the critique presented by Hewlin, Dumas, and Burnett? (You may write in the first person, obviously).

Logistics and Culture

Many studies have examined the effect of culture on specific industries and activities; for example, Hooker (2008) analyzes the effects of culture on business communication, while Salacuse (2005) examines the way culture can affect business negotiation. Krishnan et al. (n.d.) discuss culture in the context of one specific logistical problem, which is the hiring a third-party logistics firm. Why would the others factors have lesser effects? Explain in detail.

Benefits of Implementing 3rd Party Logistics Provider In Manufacturing Industry

Benefits of Implementing 3rd Party Logistics Provider (In Manufacturing Industry)

Strategic Thinking for Effective Human Resource Management

Write a 12- to 15-page literature review that captures relevant theories and empirical research leading to a significant research topic, problem, and research question(s). Approach your topic as though you were arguing for funding which might support a vital new step in understanding strategic thinking for effective HRM.

While you do not have to actually design a study to the point of specifying research measures for effective HRM or specify samples, try to evolve your thinking to the point of framing a relevant research topic, problem, and question(s) for research to address. This question should be complete enough to suggest why the answers obtained further develop an important theory, or address a gap in current models of strategic thinking or demonstrate an immediate application to solving common organizational problems. Rather than attempting to include as many references as possible, try to emphasize the logical coherence of your evidence of conceptual foundations.

Build a rhetorical argument for why your research problem and question(s) are important. An obvious extension of your paper would be to consider using it as a springboard for a dissertation proposal. Your literature review should include the following elements:

Adherence to APA format (6th edition), which requires a title page, an abstract, a reference list, and appropriate sections and their headings. A thorough review of the literature that shows evidence of a potential research opportunity/gap. Presentation of a clearly defined gap in the research, with a focus on what has and has not been discussed in the academic literature.

The definition of a viable topic for dissertation research (using the aforementioned identified gap as a basis). A draft problem statement included in your conclusion section. At least one research question that is demonstrably linked to your problem statement. You do not need to address any hypotheses or design considerations and should include this question in your conclusion section.
