Turkey

Each student has to write a term project in a selected country.

The main purpose of the project is to assess the selected country for political risk, entry strategies of foreign companies, and management styles that are appropriate in the chosen country. It is important to structure the paper (divide into sections). The first section must be an Introduction. Develop here 1-2 paragraphs stating the importance of the subject. Next several sections must comprise the body of the paper.

You must describe the issue (analysis and literature review (SIX SCHOLARLY ARTICLES published in research journals, not in magazines) of political risk, entry strategies, and management styles – a section), country risk assessment (another section using country data), entry strategies (FDI, exporting, contractual agreements, franchising, licensing…) into the country – a new section, appropriate management styles specific to the country (next section), and conclusion.

The conclusion must include a summary and brief description of your contribution to the field (risk levels, entry strategies, management styles). Non-structured (not divided into sections with headings and subheadings) papers will not be graded. Size: not less than six double-spaced pages of content, not including the title page and references page (for MBA students 8-10 pages). Use the APA Guidelines for citing and referencing. Please use and cite often at least five academic journal articles.

Additionally, any other materials (magazine and internet articles and books) may be used.

A sample structure of the term paper entitled: Doing Business in Turkey I. Introduction II. Literature Review to define political risk, entry strategies, and leadership styles in general. III. Political Risk Assessment in Turkey IV. Entry Strategies into Turkey’s Market V. Domestic and American Expatriate Management Styles in Turkey VI. Conclusion
