Theory of International Relations, topic The South China Sea Dispute Academic Level : Professional Paper details I wrote an article and i submetted in an SSCI Journal and it was rejected. by judging the comments from the editor i will need a new article.
The comments noted, “I am sorry to tell you that we will not be taking the opportunity to move forward with the publication process. After due consideration, we do not consider the manuscript to be sufficiently strong to send out for external review, given the severe competition to get into the limited space in the journal (we have a very high rejection rate, so that to move forward articles have not only to be good, but very good indeed).
We appreciate the amount of work that went into the manuscript and the extent of your knowledge of China as related to the South China Sea. Nevertheless, this knowledge is not well organised in relation to producing a significant contribution to the existing literature. The article lacks focus and digresses into too many directions. It is difficult to detect a clearly identified unifying principle in the form of a research question, argument or thesis that will get the article over the ‘significant contribution’ threshold we ask of articles that move forward. You do make a convincing case why each of the issues you address is very complex, but for the piece to succeed as an article, you need to either identify an ordering principle/vantage point that allows you to identify all the deficiencies, or propose an alternative explanation – again from an identified vantage point (most likely in the form of an alternate theory).
I am sorry to bring you this disappointing news, but we wish you all the best in your future work in the area. Although your article was not successful on this occasion, we hope that it will not deter you from create a new alternative ( based on Theory, Perhaps suggestting a change of US strategy from the Realism school of thought to a new approach also based on Realism but focus on constructivism) submitting again in future.
Thank you again for submitting your work to International Relations.”
