O‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍VERVIEW:
Each student is to write a six (6) to eight (8) pages paper. This is not including the title page, abstract, and references. The topic of your choice in the discipline of system safety application. Your research must show how System Safety Concepts are being applied. However, it also could be application to an aircraft system that was there after an aircraft accident. For example, the Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) development was because pilots were flying aircraft into terrain due to loss of situational awareness not mechanical problems. Throughout the course, we will be discussing the use of System Safety Management techniques in aviation and non-aviation settings. Your topic should be specifically on aircraft systems in real-world situations that you were introducing basing on accidents.

RESEARCH TOPIC:
Each student must declare a proposal research paper subject/topic. This should be for the instructor approval before the end of the Module 3 week to move forward. The course content will prepare you to choose a specific usage of system safety and be able to illustrate that usage in one or more aviation or industrial companies or areas. Discuss the development of your research paper in the Research Paper Forum so you can benefit from the feedback provision by your instructor. Once your instructor has reviewed your topic a complete or incomplete grade will be applied to the Grades area. Use this discussion forum in Module 3 to submit your Research Paper Topic for instructor approval. This is a required and ungraded activity.
