SU is a 53-year-old Caucasian woman who came to the clinic with a five-day complaint of swelling and greenish-colored discharge from her right breast. The patient reported that the discharge began as clear and then yellow-brown and now is a sticky and thick greenish color. She also stated that her right nipple is red and tender to touch and feels like there are lumps in it. She rated her pain level as a six on a pain scale of ten.

SU stated she has been using over the counter medication, Motrin 600 mg every eight hours for pain with little effect. SU reported she smokes about a half pack of cigarettes daily, and she does not drink an alcoholic beverage. She denies family history for breast cancer or other cancers. The patient has two children, and she is married.
