For the purpose of the paper, students will have the choice of several movies/TV Shows:

• Ordinary People (1980 – R)

• Beaches

• Ya-Ya Sisterhood

• The Incredibles

• Back to the Future

• Cheaper by the Dozen

• The Family Man

• Yours Mine and Ours

• Parenthood

• Sabrina

• Father of the Bride

• Duck-Dynasty (at least 4 episodes)

• Student Choice (with prior approval)

• Houseguest FORMAT OF PAPER The paper (5-7 pages, excluding title page and bibliography) must be typed, double-spaced with 1-inch margins on all sides in 12-point font.

The bibliographical section of your paper must be in American Psychological Association format and completely referenced. Paper needs to have an introduction, body (with sections delineated by clear transition sentences), conclusion, and a reference page.

The paper should include (not necessarily in this order): 1. Introduction A. How are you going to approach the topic? B. What is the topic? C. Why should the reader care? D. Thesis sentence (or forecast) 2. Genogram (1 page) A. Analyze movie family by completing a genogram of their family B. Regardless of the model you use, you still need to do the genogram. C. Should include relationship lines, coalitions, etc.. 3. Analyze the family using a specific family model

A. Briefly describe the model.

B. Analyze the family functioning based on the model you chose.

C. What would the treatment goals likely be from your model for this family?

D. What interventions would you use from your model with this family? Why?
