Topic: Different generations in the same workplace

For this assignment you will compare more than two articles on a similar topic or the same issue or subject related to training and development. The assignment is to produce a paper comparing the articles. Your paper should NOT be a summary of the articles or book; it should concentrate on the application of the concepts and ideas of the articles to the real world. Creative ideas and solutions are encouraged for completing this assignment.

The articles you choose will serve as references for your Final Project so keep those goals in mind when researching. Part I: include a brief summary of one very succinct paragraph covering the main theme of the articles. Part II: The following questions can be used as guidelines for what to cover.

How do the articles relate to the training and development, specifically to the course objectives? What did you learn from the articles? What in the articles is especially valuable to our study of training and development? What are the articles’ strengths?

Compare and contrast the viewpoints of the authors, especially if there are conflicts or opposing points of view. What are the weaknesses? Part III: How would YOU apply the authors’ concepts, ideas, and recommended processes at your workplace? Or, discuss and evaluate how they are already applied at your workplace.

Do the author or authors represent some vested interest or have some axe to grind that might bend his/her/their perspective? Can you recommend these articles to serious students of training and development, HR, or specific areas of HR concentration such as strategic planning, staffing, organizational development, etc? What level would benefit —- CEO’s, human resources managers, business leaders, management consultants, personnel administrators, etc.? Your paper should be about 5 to 7 pages long in APA format with properly cited sources.
