Characterization and Thematic Development: 1 ½ – 2 pages
1. Throughout a novel, the main character usually changes, develops, or learns something. Explain how the protagonist evolves at the end of the novel by examining what caused him or her to change. If the protagonist does not evolve, explain why. *
2. Compare and contrast the most important three traits of each main character. * How are your characters similar or dissimilar? Foil?
3. Does the way the characters overcome the conflicts contribute to your like/dislike of the characters? Can you see yourself making similar decision in the same situation?
