How creativity expresses problem solving and innovative thinking

1. Firstly, describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes or contributed to group efforts over time.

Things to consider: A leadership role can mean more than just a title. It can mean being a mentor to others, acting as the person in charge of a specific task, or taking the lead role in organizing an event or project. Think about what you accomplished and what you learned from the experience. What were your responsibilities?

Also, did you lead a team? How did your experience change your perspective on leading others? Did you help to resolve an important dispute at your school, church, in your community or an organization? Also your leadership role doesn’t necessarily have to be limited to school activities. For example, do you help out or take care of your family?

2. Secondly, every person has a creative side, and it can be expressed in many ways: problem solving, original and innovative thinking, and artistically, to name a few. Describe how you express your creative side.

Things to consider: What does creativity mean to you? Do you have a creative skill that is important to you? What have you been able to do with that skill? If you used creativity to solve a problem, what was your solution? What are the steps you took to solve the problem?

Additionally, how does your creativity influence your decisions inside or outside the classroom? Does your creativity relate to your major or a future career?

3. Thirdly, what have you done to make your school or your community a better place?

Things to consider: Think of community as a term that can encompass a group, team or a place — like your high school, hometown or home. You can define community as you see fit, just make sure you talk about your role in that community. Was there a problem that you wanted to fix in your community?

Also, what did you learn from your effort? How did your actions benefit others, the wider community or both? Did you work alone or with others to initiate change in your community?

Determine the marginal costs and benefits of a professional team relocating to a new market

Determine the marginal costs and benefits of a professional team relocating to a new market. For your analysis you may consider a franchise in any professional team sport, but you must choose a team that has relocated at some time in the league’s history. Any team sport except baseball. The rest of the assignment details is in the file below. Also, two sources are provided and others are suggested.

More details;

Marginal analysis is a technique used in microeconomics by which very small changes in specific variables are studied in terms of the effect on related variables and the system as a whole. Marginal costs and benefits are a vital part of economics because they help to provide the relevant measurement of costs and benefits at a specific level of production and consumption (McCain, 2008). This is the reason why I’ve chosen this topic for my paper. We use economics in our daily lives without knowing it. It would be nice to have an unlimited source of income, where one doesn’t have to worry on how they spend.

Of course to most cases, we don’t have that luxury so we must live on a budget. Analyzing the marginal costs will benefit us in the long run because when we live on a budget, we spend most of our lives trying to find the most out of our spending. Let’s say that one person who lives on a tight budget, but they would like to have a nice vacation in one point of their lives. They would work toward that point and find out how much they would need for the costs of the trip. Every dollar now becomes crucial to their spending because we must know how much we can afford and have to be wise about it.

An automated publishing system is to be developed to support publishing of books and further making it available in libraries. The publishing service has a procedure or activities to ensure publication is complete.  The publishing service involves the Author, the reviewer, the editor, the typesetter and the printer. The activities involved are below

An author writes the book chapter by chapter. The Chapter submit to the editorial office where the editor checks the content and forwards it to the appropriate reviewers for reviews. Each chapter is sent out to three subject expert reviewers to review the work. The Reviewers complete their task and provide review report on the chapters. The editor then writes an editorial feedback on the status of the chapters and the author provide a revised version of the chapter.
If the reviewer is ok with the work of the author, the editorial office then sends the work to the typesetters to work on the book and makes a draft copy available to the author for proofreading.

The Final draft and inputs are send to the editorial office for validation and author feedback. When the editorial office is Ok with the final draft, the book is reset at the typesetting office and the book goes for printing service for production.

Numerical study of the behavior failure modes of axially

1. Numerical study of the behavior failure modes of axially compressed high strength stainless steel column subjected to transverse impact loading.

Numerical study of the behavior failure modes of axially

Firstly, Numerical study of the behavior failure modes of axially compressed high strength stainless steel column subjected to transverse impact loading.

Lastly, Numerical and analytical study of behaviour of axially loaded high strength stainless steel column.

Using ANSYS FOR FE modelling

More details;

The main objective of this study is the numerical simulation of the behaviour and failure patterns of steel columns under blast loads using the dynamic finite element package ABAQUS/Explicit. A numerical model is suggested and validated against published experimental tests on full-scale wide-flange steel columns subjected to dynamic blast loads under constant axial compressive force.

Afterwards, the validated model is used to investigate the effect of important parameters on the behaviour. Additionally, failure patterns of steel columns under blast pressure through an extensive parametric study. The parameters include the blast impulse, the blast energy, the blast load, the blast duration. The column boundary condition, the column slenderness ratio, and also the blast direction.

The conclusions extract from this parametric study may be use to develop a thorough understanding of the behaviour. Also, failure of steel columns subjected to blast load which, in turn, could lead to a more accurate practical design procedure.

The study also presents derivations and validations of a proposed analytical approach to calculate the critical blast impulse at which a steel column losses its global stability.

Comparison between the critical impulse-axial force curves obtained from the proposed equation. Also that extracted from numerical simulations indicates the validity and feasibility of the proposed equation.

Every one of us is exposed to vibration either through our workplace or home environment

Every one of us is exposed to vibration, either through our workplace or home environment.  Vibrations can come from the natural world around us or from the man-made environments in which we spend our time.  What are some sources of vibrations that you have experienced in your life?  What did you do to mitigate the vibration?

More details;

Why measure or evaluate vibration exposure?

We can feel vibrations and know that people might be exposed to it.

But we cannot determine if what we feel is going to be harmful. For that, we must measure vibration exposure.

Vibration is the mechanical oscillations of an object about an equilibrium point. The oscillations may be regular such as the motion of a pendulum or random such as the movement of a tire on a gravel road. The study of health effects of vibration require measures of the overall “pressure waves” (vibration energy) generated by the vibrating equipment or structure.

Vibration enters the body from the part of the body or organ in contact with vibrating equipment.

When a worker operates hand-held equipment such as a chain saw or jackhammer, vibration affects hands and arms. Such an exposure is called hand-arm vibration exposure. When a worker sits or stands on a vibrating floor or seat, the vibration exposure affects almost the entire body and is called whole-body vibration exposure.

The risk of vibration induced injury depends on the average daily exposure. An evaluation of the risk takes into account the intensity and frequency of the vibration, the duration (years) of exposure and the part of the body which receives the vibration energy.

Hand-arm vibration causes damage to hands and fingers. It appears as damage to blood vessels, nerves and joints in the fingers. The resulting condition is known as white finger disease, Raynaud’s phenomenon or hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS). One of the symptoms is that affected fingers may turn white, especially when exposed to cold. Vibration-induced white finger disease also causes a loss of grip force and loss of sensitivity to touch.

Since the company you work for has instituted a bring your own device (BYOD)  policy

Since the company you work for has instituted a bring your own device BYOD policy

Project 2: Incident Response

Step 1: Develop a Wireless and BYOD Security Plan

Since the company you work for has instituted a bring your own device (BYOD)  policy, security attitudes have been lax, and all sorts of devices, authorized and unauthorized, have been found connected to the company’s wireless infrastructure. In this first step, you will develop a wireless and BYOD security plan for the company.

Use the NIST Guidelines for Securing Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) Special Publication 800-153 to provide an executive summary to answer other security concerns related to BYOD and wireless. Within your cybersecurity incident report, discuss why the security of wireless access points is important. Provide answers to the threat of unauthorized equipment or rogue access points on the company wireless network and the methods to find other rogue access points. Further, describe how to detect rogue access points and how they can actually connect to the network. Describe how to identify authorized access points within your network.

Within your plan, include how the Cyber Kill Chain framework and approach could be used to improve the incident response times for networks.

Include this at the beginning of your CIR as the basis for all wireless- and BYOD-related problems within the network. Title the section “Wireless and BYOD Security Plan.”

Step 2: Track Suspicious Behavior

You’ve completed your wireless and BYOD security plan. Now it’s time to take a look at another workplace situation.

You have been notify of an employee exhibiting suspicious behavior. Additionally, you decide to track the employee’s movements by using available industry tools and techniques. Also, you know the location and time stamps associated with the employee’s mobile device.

How would you track the location of the company asset?

Explain how identity theft could occur and how MAC spoofing could take place in the workplace. How would you protect against both identity theft and MAC spoofing? Address if it is feasible to determine if MAC spoofing and identity theft has taken place in the workplace. Include a whitelist of approved devices for this network. Review materials on security of wireless access points

Are there any legal issues, problems, or concerns with your actions? What should be conduct before starting this investigation? Were your actions authorized, was the notification valid, or are there any other concerns? Include your responses as part of the CIR with the title “Tracking Suspicious Behavior.” Note that a CIR summary would not include the name of the actual employee; the situation is being use as an example of what to do when something like this occurs.

In the next step, you will explore another workplace scenario, and your responses will help you formulate a continuous improvement plan, which will become another part of your CIR.
====================================

Step 3: Develop a Continuous Improvement Plan

Now that you’ve complete d the section on tracking suspicious behavior for your CIR, you are confronted with another situation in the workplace.

You receive a memo for continuous improvement to the wireless network of your company, and you are asked to provide a report on the company’s wireless network. You have been monitoring the activities on WPA2. Provide for your leadership a description of Wi-Fi protected access (WPA) networks and include the pros and cons of each type of wireless network with a focus on WPA2.

Since WPA2 uses encryption to provide secure communications, define the scheme for using preshared keys for encryption. Is this FIPS 140-2 compliant, and if not, what is necessary to attain this? Include this for leadership. Include a list of other wireless protocols, such as Bluetooth, and provide a comparative analysis of four protocols including the pros, cons, and suitability for your company.

Also, include your responses as part of the CIR with the title “Continuous Improvement Plan.”

In the next step, you will look at yet another workplace scenario, and you will use that incident to show management how remote configuration management works.
———————————————–

Step 4: Develop Remote Configuration Management

You’ve completed the continuous improvement plan portion of the CIR. Now, it’s time to show how your company has implemented remote configuration management.

Start your incident report with a description of remote configuration management and also how it is use in maintaining the security posture of your company’s network. Then, consider the following scenario:

An undocument device is find on the company network. You have determine that the owner of the device should be remove from the network. Implement this and explain how you would remove the employee’s device. Further, how would you show proof that the device was removed?
Include your responses as part of the CIR with the title “Remote Configuration Management.”

In the next step, you also will illustrate how you investigate possible employee misconduct.
——————————————

Step 5: Investigate Employee Misconduct

In this portion of your CIR report, you will show how you would investigate possible employee misconduct. You have been give a report that an employee has record log-ins during unofficial duty hours. The employee has set up access through an ad hoc wireless network. Provide a definition of ad hoc wireless networks and identify how such networks could contribute to the company infrastructure while also detailing the threats and vulnerabilities they bring. Use notional information or actual case data and also discuss.

Address self-configuring dynamic networks on open access architecture and the threats and vulnerabilities associated with them, as well as the possible protections that should be implemented. From your position as an incident manager, how would you detect an employee connecting to a self-configuring network or an ad hoc network? Also, provide this information in the report. How would signal hiding be a countermeasure for wireless networks? Additionally, what are the countermeasures for signal hiding? How is the service set identifier (SSID) used by cybersecurity professionals on wireless networks? Are these always broadcast, and if not, why not? Finally, how would you validate that the user is working outside of business hours?

Include your responses as part of the CIR with the title “Employee Misconduct.”
————————————————–

Step 7: Prepare and Submit the Cybersecurity Incident Report and Executive Summary

You’ve completed all of the individual steps for your cybersecurity incident report. It’s time to combine the reports you completed in the previous steps into a single CIR.

The assignments for this project are as follows:

Cybersecurity Incident Report (CIR): The page count does not include figures, diagrams, tables, or citations.

Executive summary: This is a one-page summary at the beginning of your CIR.

This is a paper that is focusing on the writing on do you believe the benefits of comic books and superheroes. The paper also provides additional information to use in the writing of this assignment paper.

Do you believe the benefits of comic books and superheroes

Comics & Superheroes

The first essay in our class is a position essay in which you are taking a stance on a subject and supporting your position with research and evidence. In a synthesis, your goal is to strengthen points by connecting resources together throughout the essay. Throughout this unit, you will conduct research and find sources that link well together in support of your claim.

For this essay, you will be examining the following question/idea:

Do you believe the benefits of comic books and superheroes, in terms of education, cultural/historical value, and/or entertainment, outweigh the detriments?

In your essay, you have room to focus on whichever area you choose. (i.e. on the educational value/harm, on issues of cultural bias, etc…). However, the primary focus must be on Comics/Superheroes (you can also use manga/anime – video games can be used as a tangential resource but should not be the focus of your essay). This is an open topic, so if you would like to focus on some familiarity with this from a different country (For example, I have had students discuss the cultural influence of comics/superheroes from their home countries), you are welcome to do so.

Make sure you are only incorporating key evidence in support of your claim and eliminate unrelated pieces of information. Be sure to include an introduction that covers the general topic of Comics/Superheroes and have a thesis statement that highlights your central claim. The rest of your paper should focus on reasons supporting your choice. Supporting details should come from both the LIB Guides and your own research. Remember, do not just summarize your sources; you must synthesize!S
