Sales and Customer service

Parameters and guidelines for the term paper are as follows: • Select an organization, e.g., a corporation, company, firm or association (ideally, an organization which you have some interest in joining) for in-depth analysis of their sales and customer services. • The term paper should be at least 1,500 words with at least 3 scholarly references in addition to your eText for a minimum of 4 total references. Please keep in mind that the word count requirements point out the minimum amount of effort that should be put into the paper. Word count isn’t everything because quality of writing and research matters as well, butitisanindicationofthequantityofeffortputintotheassignment. Notethatword count does not include title, abstract, or reference pages. Not following this requirement will significantly impact the grade. • Use scholarly peer-reviewed references rather than websites. Scholarly references are generally more credible and make a more persuasive argument. Non-academic websites are not typically recommended for academic writing. While most of the information generally is correct, it is not always reliable because anyone can change the content, bias is often present, and it is not peer-reviewed. For example, it’s best not to use news websites, Wikipedia, investopedia.com, about.com, smallbusiness.chron.com, huffingtonpost.com, 17 MGT 2268 – Sales and Customer Service ehow.com, forbes.com, cnn.com, online encyclopedias, or similar non-academic websites. Articles in these types of websites are written by reporters or individuals who may or may not be experts in the field, and consequently may have incorrect or biased information. Instead, it adds much more credibility to use the class eText, other related textbooks, and peer-reviewed articles, i.e. scholars have analyzed and evaluated the content for accuracy, quality, and reliability. Be sure to use the university library to help you find these types of scholarly references. The library has a setting in database searches that allow you to search for peer-reviewed articles only. • It is acceptable to use a company website for research, say for example if you are researching Apple, it’s ok to use www.apple.com to describe their mission, strategy, financials, etc. • The Term Paper should be well organized and encompass the above subject and content guidelines, and an electronic copy of the project should be submitted via Turnitin. • PowerPoint: A 10-12 slide (not including title or reference slides) PowerPoint presentation is a required component of the research project. The PowerPoint should be focused on an audience of your choice that brings out the key points in your Term Paper. You may use the same ideas and wording as in the Term Paper. For example, you may choose to present to an audience of customer service representatives on how to improve their customer service techniques. Slides should not have more than 50 words of text and should focus on using pictures, media, large fonts, etc. to be visually appealing and make a persuasive case. You should include at least 50 words in the speaker notes for each slide with the exception of title and reference slides, which do not require speaker notes. Speaker notes are the words you would say to the audience for each respective slide and go below the actual slide where PowerPoint shows the phrase, “Click to add notes.” The PowerPoint requires at least 3 references, which should be in APA-format, i.e. properly formatted in-text citations and a reference slide at the end of the presentation. The term paper report structure is as follows: (This structure is only to help students to get started and think further in this direction. Students are free to adapt the structure of the research report as they desire.) 18 1. Introduction Background and Context: Discuss type of industry, products/services, existing channels, competition in the context of sales and customer service, and how organizational vision and strategies have influenced their sales and customer service management. 2. Analysis of Personal Selling & Sales Management Approach 3. Analysis of Customer Service & Customer Turn offs MGT 2268 – Sales and Customer Service 19 3.1 Analysis of Organizational Systems, Policies &Culture 3.2 Analysis of Individual Actions 4. Analysis of the Use of Data and Technology for Sales & Customer Service 5. Recommendations 6. Conclusion 7. References

Turkey

Each student has to write a term project in a selected country.

The main purpose of the project is to assess the selected country for political risk, entry strategies of foreign companies, and management styles that are appropriate in the chosen country. It is important to structure the paper (divide into sections). The first section must be an Introduction. Develop here 1-2 paragraphs stating the importance of the subject. Next several sections must comprise the body of the paper.

You must describe the issue (analysis and literature review (SIX SCHOLARLY ARTICLES published in research journals, not in magazines) of political risk, entry strategies, and management styles – a section), country risk assessment (another section using country data), entry strategies (FDI, exporting, contractual agreements, franchising, licensing…) into the country – a new section, appropriate management styles specific to the country (next section), and conclusion.

The conclusion must include a summary and brief description of your contribution to the field (risk levels, entry strategies, management styles). Non-structured (not divided into sections with headings and subheadings) papers will not be graded. Size: not less than six double-spaced pages of content, not including the title page and references page (for MBA students 8-10 pages). Use the APA Guidelines for citing and referencing. Please use and cite often at least five academic journal articles.

Additionally, any other materials (magazine and internet articles and books) may be used.

A sample structure of the term paper entitled: Doing Business in Turkey I. Introduction II. Literature Review to define political risk, entry strategies, and leadership styles in general. III. Political Risk Assessment in Turkey IV. Entry Strategies into Turkey’s Market V. Domestic and American Expatriate Management Styles in Turkey VI. Conclusion

Supply Chain Management

Supply Chain Management (110 points) Visit the websites of three Middle Eastern companies like Al Baik, Almarai, and Emirates Airlines or any others of your choosing. Identify information on the companies’ supply chain management activities. Write a 5-6 page paper, not including the cover and reference pages, that, after your opening paragraph which includes your thesis statement, identifies your selected companies in no more than three paragraphs. In the remaining pages, break down information you find on purchasing issues, supplier issues, logistics, information systems, quality, and customer service to compare and contrast the supply chains of your selected companies. In your final one or two paragraphs, suggest improvements for each company based on your comparison to the other two.

Be sure to use at least two scholarly, peer-reviewed references in supporting your answer. Current sources are those published within the most recent five-year period, and scholarly sources are those from peer-reviewed journals. Make certain for each listed reference that you have at least one supporting citation in the body of your content. Your reference page is always the last page of the submission where all individual references get listed. The Digital Library is a good resource to search for these references. Submit your presentation into the Assignment Dropbox. It is strongly encouraged that you submit all assignments into the TurnItIn Originality Check prior to submitting them to your instructor for grading. If you are unsure how to submit an assignment into the Originality Check tool, review the TurnItIn Originality Check – Student Guide for step-by-step instructions.

Government Impact on Business

Whether you are studying Texas or Federal Government this semester, Texas politics and way of life is impacted by the differences between rural and urban life. This paper focuses on the politics of rural versus urban life in Texas. We measure the quality of life based on medical care, economic opportunity, and political participation in rural versus urban life in Texas. Your research paper focuses on the following questions: How is the quality of life different in rural versus urban Texas? Does the quality of life impact whether an area votes Republican or Democratic? How different is medical care, economic opportunity, and voting trends in rural versus urban Texas? Do these indicators of the quality of life impact how Texans vote? How different is rural politics from urban politics in Texas as indicated by the differences in voting trends—Republican versus Democratic—in rural versus urban counties? Does support for the border wall illustrate these differences? Does support for Republicans and Democrats differ depending on where voters live? Health care is a tremendous political issue. Is there a crisis in rural Texas? Use the following 18 articles and sources in your research paper. YOU MUST USE AT LEAST 12 OF THE FOLLOWING SOURCES IN YOUR PAPER. (If you’re writing a paper to submit in both my GOVT 2306 and GOVT 2305 courses in which you’re registered you must use all 18.) You need not use any other articles than these listed here. You should watch the videos and use the information contained in these news stories to support your paper. At the present time, what are the core competencies of the venture? How do these relate to the original business concept? 8. Critique the structure of the company. In what ways does it support or constrain entrepreneurship? Is it flat? How does the organizational structure encourage or discourage innovation by employees? 9. Look at the way in which the company evaluates and rewards employees. Are the appraisal and reward systems encouraging entrepreneurial behavior? Explain why or why not. 10.
