Guidelines: 1. Firstly, for the purposes of this assignment, choose an adult client or a verbal adolescent.
2. Secondly, this paper should be 9-12 pages in length excluding title and reference pages. A minimum of six scholarly references should be used. At least two of these references should be journal articles. 3. Thirdly, utilize the outline given below to organize your paper. 4. Fourthly, the paper should present the client from his or her subjective point of view as well as through your eyes. Focus on the aspects of this person and the interactions you had that seem most significant to you. A rubric will be provided in the first class session. Outline: 1. Relevant Biopsychosocial Information – Comment upon the significance of the following elements as they relate to the client’s being-in-the-world. Include other relevant PSYC 515 – Page 5 historical information if it applies.

Significant relationships and/or patterns in relationships g. Sexuality 2. From the Client’s Subjective (Phenomenological) Point of View (However, not all should be answered. Choose what is most applicable.) a. What are the client’s central needs? b. How are these needs currently met? What resources does the client have for healing and growth? c. 3. From Your Perspective: a. What stands out as key issues for the client in terms of conflicts, deficits, needs, and wishes (either conscious or unconscious). b. What blocks exist in the client’s moving toward his or her goals? c. What is shadow for this client? What do you believe he or she is not seeing in himself or herself or the situation that contributes to the problem? d. What values of the client are in conflict surrounding his or her primary concern? 4.
