Assignment: You will prepare a briefing memo (3-4 pages, single-spaced, double spacing between paragraphs) wriRen to a candidate for governor in your state as a background piece on state health care policy. Your memo should respond to the following ques6ons: • What are the key posi6ons in your state with respect to the Affordable Care Act, par6cularly with Medicaid expansion and the Health Care Exchange? Is there support or opposi6on in the legislature, governor’s office and elsewhere in the state? Explain. • How is Medicaid operated in your state? Does your state have an expansive or limited list of services available under Medicaid? • What are the costs to operate the ACA and Medicaid? • Do you have recommenda6ons for your gubernatorial candidate?
