Assignment
Expository Literary Analysis
Your assignment is to write an analytical paper. You must use the writing process to create your paper. This paper should be 3-5 pages in length. The assignment is to compare Poe’s short stories, “The Fall of the House of Usher,” and “The Cask of Amontillado.” Compare how Poe portrays family in each of these stories.
An effective audience analysis.
An effective thesis statement.
Effective transitions.
An introduction paragraph, body paragraphs that support the points in the thesis, and also an effective conclusion.
Strong textual evidence from the textbook presented in each body paragraph that supports the topic sentence and also the thesis of the paper.
At least 3 outside sources in addition to the textbook (4 sources total). All sources must be properly cited (MLA style only) within the text as well as properly cited on a Works Cited page.
Deliverables
· Analytical paper 3-5 pages using MLA style.
· Works Cited page (at least 4 sources) used both on the Works Cited page and included within the paper to support your claim.
