Experimental design: What is it and when should it be used?

Experiments are an excellent data collection strategy for social workers wishing to observe the effects of a clinical intervention or social welfare program. Understanding what experiments are and how they are conduct is useful for all social scientists, whether they actually plan to use this methodology or simply aim to understand findings from experimental studies. An experiment is a method of data collection designed to test hypotheses under controlled conditions. Students in my research methods classes often use the term experiment to describe all kinds of research projects, but in social scientific research, the term has a unique meaning and should not be used to describe all research methodologies.

Strategy (N1021) and Strategy for Finance (N1575) 2020/2021

Individual Project Report – 30%

Word count: 1,500 words (+/- 10%, excluding tables, figures and bibliography)

Project task:
The Covid pandemic has been a global challenge for businesses worldwide. In response, firms have been engaging in various activities to address the crisis, accounting for needs of various stakeholders, such as employees, customers, suppliers, and communities/society. Especially large and successful companies have been under pressure to act appropriately and responsibly.

In this project your task is to examine in greater detail the Covid-related strategic responses of a Fortune Global 500 firm based on information available on the Internet. After identifying the company’s products and services, industry, major clients, values and mission/vision statement, you are also asked to find out about the company’s Covid-related strategic responses to four major stakeholder groups (employees, customers, suppliers, and communities/society). Finally, you are expected to assess to what extent the company’s Covid response strategy reflects or goes beyond (or perhaps against) their values, mission and vision statement.

Please answer all three questions:

(1) Identify the company’s major products and services, industry, major (type of) clients, values, and mission/vision statement.

(2) Identify how the company (if at all) has addressed the Covid crisis with respect to four major stakeholder groups: employees, customers, suppliers, and also community/society.

(3) Evaluate the extent to which the company’s Covid responses reflect their values and mission/vision statement.
Please structure your answers by question, i.e. (1), (2) and (3), and also answer all aspects of each question. If you are unable to find information on specific aspects please indicate that as well. Try your best to capture as much relevant information as possible.

To answer each of the questions, please make use of various Internet sources:

corporate website, business press articles, industry reports, newspaper articles, blogs, videos etc.

Please reference these sources throughout the text wherever you make use of them (and also include a complete bibliography at the end). Use Google Translate for non-English web pages. You may further use tables and figures to capture information (they are exclude from the word count). Good luck

Assessments:

1.            Handling teasing or being bullied

2.            Understanding my learning style to improve how I learn

3.            My counselor is available to me when I need to see/him or her.

4.            I understand why I need a good education.

God and morality – you will write a paper that argues for a specific conclusion

You will write a paper that argues for a specific conclusion about the topic that you chose. Make sure to summarize the main positions and the arguments for these positions first. Then provide your argument for your take on this topic. Below are some more details:

This paper should be about 4-5 pages.
You must cite your sources using MLA format to avoid plagiarism.
Avoid direct quotations as much as you can. Instead summarize the main points of what you wanted to quote (and then give the authbikor credit by citing them).

More details;

From the beginning of the Abrahamic faiths and of Greek philosophy, religion and morality have been closely intertwined. This is true whether we go back within Greek philosophy or within Christianity and Judaism and Islam. The present entry will not try to step beyond these confines, since there are other entries on Eastern thought (see, for example, the entries on Ethics in Indian and Tibetan Buddhism and Chinese Ethics). The entry proceeds chronologically, giving greatest length to the contemporary period. It cannot, within the present compass, aspire to be comprehensive.

But it will be able to describe the main options as they have occurred historically. The purpose of proceeding historically is to substantiate the claim that morality and religion have been inseparable until very recently, and that our moral vocabulary is still deeply infused with this history. Since there are historically so many different ways to see the relation, a purely schematic or typological account is not likely to succeed as well. The entry will not try to enter deeply into the ethical theories of the individual philosophers mentioned, since this encyclopedia already contains individual entries about them; it will focus on what they say about the relation between morality and religion.

Select the US national response to weapons of mass destruction

This is a paper that is focusing on the student to select the US national response to weapons of mass destruction. The paper also provides additional information to use in the writing of the assignment paper. Below is a description of the assignment:

Select the US national response to weapons of mass destruction

Instructions
First, select a newer scholarly journal article (no older than 2015) relevant to the course regarding the US national response to weapons of mass destruction (WMD) or the psychological impact of an WMD attack on the population. Then conduct an article review of that article. It must be related to the course or course materials. The intent is for students to do some external research away from the provided references and find an Article in the AMU/APUS Library. Students should search the library’s online databases, such as ProQuest, EbscoHost, and others, to find scholarly or peer-reviewed articles.

Additionally, the review of the journal article is an evaluation of the article’s strengths, weaknesses, and validity. It is used to inform of the article’s value through your explanation, interpretation, and analysis. As you do this, ask the major questions that are central to the review process:

1. Firstly, what is the purpose of this article?

2. Secondly, why is it important to investigate or examine the subject of the article?

3. Thirdly, how are the authors carrying out the task? Are their methods and comments appropriate and adequate to the task?

4. Fourthly, what do they claim to have found out? Are the findings clearly stated?

5. Lastly, how does this advance knowledge in the field?

Select the US national response to weapons of mass destruction

Introduction (this will have a well-defined purpose statement in your intro paragraph that provides guidance to the reader about what you are going to cover in your paper)
Body (feel free to use sub-headings if necessary)
Conclusion (this wraps up the key points of your work and brings your paper to a logical conclusion)

Technical Requirements

Your paper must be at a minimum of 5 pages (the Title and Reference pages do not count towards the minimum limit).
A good rule of thumb is at least 2 scholarly sources per page of content.
Type in Times New Roman, 12 point and double space.
Students will follow the current APA Style as the sole citation and reference style used in written work submitted as part of coursework.
Points will be for the use of Wikipedia or encyclopedic type sources. It is highly advised to utilize books, peer-reviewed journals, articles, archived documents, etc.
