Discuss at least two information sharing models that have been recommended since then.
Summarize some technology available to support these information sharing models.
Discuss what you think would be the most effective information sharing model to help prevent terrorist attacks.

The paper should be 3 – 5 pages in length and use the APA style of citations.

More details;

Information Sharing for Homeland Security:

In the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the
Pentagon, various recommendations and efforts have been made with the intention
of improving information sharing among government entities at all levels within the
United States, the private sector, and certain foreign governments, with a view to
countering terrorists and strengthening homeland security.

The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (9/11 Commission) was among those to
have most recently offered recommendations in this regard in its July 22, 2004,
report. The types of information potentially within the scope of such sharing include
raw data, which has undergone little or no assessment regarding its accuracy or
implications; knowledge, which has been determine to have a high degree of
reliability or validity; and intelligence, which has been carefully evaluated concerning
its accuracy and significance, and may sometimes be credited in terms of its source.

Why adolescent children may be less logical to emotions

Your textbook details a sequence in which the human brain develops. The limbic system, or the seat of emotions and experience of rewards, (p. 344) is said to be completely developed in early adolescence. However, the pre-frontal cortex, also called the, judgement region doesn’t finish developing until at least a person is nearly an adult.

We could reasonably suggest that during the adolescent stage, it may be biologically difficult for a person to wrangle their emotions, impulses, and behaviors.

As a medical educator, how would you teach a group of parents about why their adolescent boys and girls are “acting out”?

In approximately 3 pages, create a “fact sheet” in MS Word that includes a chart, images, or banners, tables, etc., that explain why adolescent children may be less logical and more emotional in their decision-making. As part of your fact sheet, include ideas on how parents can best support their teenager during this time

Researchers experimented with organ transplantation on animals and humans in the 18th century. There were many failures over the years, but by the mid-20th century, scientists were performing successful organ transplants. Transplants of kidneys, livers, hearts, pancreata, intestine, lungs, and heart-lungs are now considered routine medical treatment.

Important medical breakthroughs such as tissue typing and immunosuppressant drugs allow for more organ transplants and a longer survival rate for recipients. Additionally, the most notable development in this area was Jean Borel’s discovery of an immunosuppressant drug in the mid-1970s. Cyclosporine was approved for commercial use in November 1983.

Unfortunately, the need for organ transplants continues to exceed the supply of organs. But as medical technology improves and more donors become available, the number of people who live longer and healthier lives continues to increase each year.

The Basic Path of Donation

When your time comes, perhaps decades later, your organs may be use to save many lives. People most frequently become donors after a stroke, heart attack or severe head injury.

Even though cases vary, the following describes the basic steps in donation from deceased donors.

Assignment C: Leadership and National Oversight (10%)

Background:

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) are the primary intelligence oversight bodies on Capitol Hill. Congressional oversight is the legislative branch’’s responsibility to monitor and indirectly supervise federal programs, agencies, and policies.

Intelligence oversight is very important to ensure the IC is accountable and adhering to constitutional law. Congress’s role in Intelligence oversight is of heightened importance.  The American people expect a  capable Congress committed to meaningful Intelligence oversight. The 9/11 Commission stated “Of all our recommendations, strengthening congressional oversight may be among the most difficult and important. So long as oversight is governed by current congressional rules and resolutions, we believe the American people will not get the security they want and need. The United States needs a strong, stable, and capable congressional committee structure to give America’s national intelligence agencies oversight, support, and leadership.” (9/11 Report, p. 419)

In 2014, the former 9/11 Commission chairmen issued a follow-on report that highlighted the lack of action on their recommendations concerning congressional oversight. For example, DHS oversight and oversight of the Intelligence budget process are still prevailing issues.

Select any three of the five oversight issues in HPSCI and SSCI

There is much debate and disagreement on the effectiveness of IC Congressional oversight due to a variety of issues that have impacted the Congress’s ability to provide relevant Intelligence oversight:

Firstly, inefficiencies due to a large number of Intelligence committees and sub-committees given the scope of their responsibilities in relation to their size and capabilities.
Secondly, ever-increasing bipartisanship has led to the politicization of intelligence matters.
Thirdly, too much Congressional and IC focus on appropriations but not enough real oversight.
Fourthly, congress’s legislation and oversight powers that have been largely relinquished to an over-powerful and under-responsive Executive Branch.
Lastly, congress does not have the necessary resources to do adequate oversight.

Assignment: As an Intelligence leader, select any three of the five oversight issues outlined above. Address and make recommendations for each that could assist in improving or streamlining the Congressional oversight process.  The paper should include a brief background to provide context for the reader and a conclusion of the main takeaways.

Notes:

Your paper should be at least 8-10 pages double-spaced, not including the cover page, introduction, and references.
The paper must cite at least one (1) academic or professional reference for each page written, located through the UMGC library.

How are culture, power, and gender related?

How are culture, power, and gender related? OR How is the category of ‘woman’ related to feminist struggles for gender equity?

How are culture, power and gender related

Once you have selected the topic area, reflect on the course readings (the book is Gender and Women’s Studies, Second Edition: Critical Terrain Paperback – June 1, 2018 by Margaret Hobbs (Editor), Carla Rice (Editor)) to plan how you will best address the topic. When you have a general plan, then devise an argument that you can support throughout the paper.

Evaluation: The paper will be evaluated on the following: the overall strength of the ideas, argument (thesis is a big part of this) and analysis, the organization and presentation of the paper, the level of understanding of the material, and the technical aspects. While research that extends beyond the course material is not mandatory for this essay, you are welcome to include additional sources. That said, the paper must demonstrate a clear and critical understanding of the course literature. Note: see the course syllabus for late submission penalties. Further, should you be unable to submit your paper on time for any reason, please contact your TA directly.

Things to Remember:
Plan your writing schedule to allow for enough time to think the ideas through

Establish a thesis at the onset of the paper and support your thesis throughout

Write analytically (rather than descriptively)

Avoid overbroad statements such as: “Since the dawn of time…” or “Men have always oppressed women…” (They do not add to the specificity of your argument and are often highly debatable)

Use concepts and theories from class and beyond to support your ideas

Edit to ensure that the writing is clear. If this is an area of struggle, be sure to access the support of your TA, the undergraduate writing center, or your Instructor.
