This is an assignment that BUS8100 summary and book review of a book using Cliff notes. The paper discusses the author’s point of view workable on the real world.

The intent of the assignment is to have students read the designated book and provides a concise evaluation and discussion of the book. You may not use or cite Cliff Notes for this assignment.  Students are required to do more than summarize the book because this is not a book report. Additionally, students are required to draw parallels (connections) to the course content in BUS8100.  Students should critically read and analyze the designated book. Also, identify related connections or parallels between the book and concepts learned throughout the quarter.  The student must demonstrate an understanding of the author’s primary concepts/principles. Additionally, how they correspond (or perhaps do not correspond) to the principles BUS8100.   Please review the evaluation rubric for additional requirements of the assignment.

The following items are a few potential aspects that could be considered and discussed in detail (remember, these are merely potential suggestions):
*Was the author’s point of view workable in the “real world” or was it very simplistic and idealistic?
*Did the author treat his subject fairly and completely, or were there gaps in the coverage that would indicate a biased point of view?
*The author indicated that a degree of ‘charisma’ is necessary for an effective leader. However, it did not adequately define charisma, or explain what a person who isn’t charismatic by nature can do to cultivate this trait.

Where applicable, the student can also provide professional and/or personal experiences which substantiate or dispute the author’s claim.  Upon completion, a minimum of a 11-12 page document. This is not including Title Page, Abstract, Table of Contents, Reference Page, and Appendices) should be developed.
