Below is one way to organize your paper and help you prepare:

Examine the evidence.  Is it reliable?  Handled properly?  Would it be different if you utilize modern methods if the case is older?  Which pieces of evidence is most key and why?  How could it be manipulated or managed?  What avenues of pursuit would you use in reinvestigating the case if money were not an issue?  Why?

You are to conduct an in-depth interview with someone directly involved with the case

(original investigator, regional historian, victim, etc.) or an expert on the key type of evidence.

Your analysis of the case, the evidence, its original management and, as the investigator, where you would take it?  It is essential you support your stance with details.  Why?  Details, details, details.
