Please use a conversational tone that invites personal connection and helps develop rapport.

If you’re not sure whether to include a topic or specific points, include them for now. You can omit them when you don’t need them in different situations.

Make this your own work. If you “borrow” another person’s words or style, it won’t appear authentic and you won’t be believable. Some students have previously copied opening statements they found online and, unfortunately, their work earned a zero. I suggest that you not go down that path.

It’s fine if you decide to follow the outline I’ve provided. It’s a decent place to start. You’ll begin to get a feel for your personal style and approach.
