Written Assignment 2 – Arts 1301:
Find an example of architecture that you really like. Give me the “who, what, when, where and why” for it. (Report on who created it, what it is constructed of, when it was made, where it is located and why it was made [was the artist hired to create the work, did they do it as a public service or for publicity, did they just do it because they wanted to, etc?]) Also state what it is you like about the artwork.

Note: If the artwork has been destroyed or no longer in use, be sure to mention it.

The assignment is meant to be at least 2-3 pages: 1-2 pages for the actual writing and a third page for images and reference information (links to sites where information and images were found or bibliographic information of books, magazines, etc. where information and images were found). By images I simply mean to print small pictures of the artworks you are writing about. If you need additional pages for your reference information, that is fine.

Do not skimp on the info nor pad the paper (i.e. 1-2 page means a minimum of one full page, not less than a page because you made the margins narrower or the font larger and not a page full of fluff.) So long as you have at least 19-21 lines of text on the page (and you can include the title as part of that) it should be fine. (Font size will be either 11 or 12 points and the lines are to be double-spaced).

NOTE: Specific artworks from the textbook may not be used. In other words – if it is in the book PICK SOMETHING ELSE!

I will take 25 points off of your grade if you use an artwork from the textbook.
If you aren’t sure if it’s in the book or not, email me to be certain.
