The Thief and The Dogs

Description The protagonists in The Thief and the Dogs is trapped by memory but unmistakably bound to the dire circumstances of their current plight. Meanwhile those around him often provide sharp contrast to the protagonist’s mode of thinking in time. This interpersonal dynamic creates tension. For this paper please choose one character from the novel to discuss how character’s mode of thinking in time creates conflict and what the result of that conflict is. Provide specific examples, focusing on a specific instance in which the character’s mode of thinking in time creates tension. Additionally, consider which aspects of the author’s language or imagery reveal the character’s behavior? How does the language of past future contrast with the language of present or future?
