Mock Crime Scene Extra Credit Assignment (40 points) Directions: Use the scenario information and observations provided below as well as the diagram of the scene to help you answer the questions.Scenario: You are called out to a scene to assist with a homicide and the following information is given to you by the lead investigator upon your arrival at the scene:
•The scene is located inside a one-bedroom apartment.
•There is one adult female decedent in the bedroom.
•She has multiple stabs wounds to her body.
•Apparent blood has been found in the bedroom, on the kitchen floor, and on the entry way floor.
•It does not appear that there was a forced entry into the apartment.
•A neighbor across from the victim’s residence called 911 after noticing a man rushing out of the victim’s front door and leaving it slightly open.
•A male suspect, matching the description given by her neighbor, was apprehended two blocks away and has been taken to the station for questioning and processing. Observations: As you enter the master bedroom you observe:
•The decedent is supine on the bed and naked from the waist down.
•A bottle of alcohol and two glasses containing amber colored liquid are on the dresser across from the bed.
•Blood spatter is on the walls, ceiling and carpet in the northwest corner of the bedroom.

•An apparent bite mark on her left shoulder.
•White crusty substance on her left thigh. Additional observations:
•You determine that the blood on the floor of the kitchen and entry way appears to be circular in shape.Questions:
1. Based on the observations of the victim’s body and the nature of the crime there are seven possible pieces of evidence you could collect from or near the victim. Name five. (5 points)
2. Take two of those pieces of evidence collected from the victim in the above question and describe how you would document, collect/package, and prevent cross contamination.
