Making of the World System and DisOrder and InJustice

Your first critical analysis paper is due. As noted on the syllabus, in this paper you are to critically analyze key arguments, themes, and concepts of the course readings and make connections between the various texts.

This critical analysis covers the first two subsections of this course:

(1) Making of the World System and (2) (Dis)Order and (In)Justice (up until the subsection Race & War..

You are by no means required to cover all the content and readings covered thus far. Rather you should select a compelling question, theme, or argument that you are interested in unpacking and analyzing through a critical read of the course texts. You may choose, for example, to critically examine global processes (capitalism, colonialism, globalization) that have produced and continue to shape our contemporary world. Or you may opt to take a more thematic approach and analyze the tension between order and justice as it plays out across the contemporary world. While you do not need to cover every text reviewed in the course, you do need to engage at least five texts in some capacity. The paper should engage the content of our course readings until the course subsection Race & War.
