There are huge differences in attitudes about slavery in the United States that emerge between 1787 and the 1830s. Explain the Founding Fathers general opinions about slavery and what they ultimately got wrong, then explain how opinions changed in the North and the South through to the 1830s including specific groups in American society, free African Americans in the North, northern whites, and southern whites. Make sure you explain why those new opinions emerged about slavery and explain the events and influences that caused them to emerge.
