Health care management requires leadership skills

Health care management requires leadership skills which will test your ability to make vital decisions. “Like a rapidly mutating cancer cell, poor leadership within healthcare systems can cause toxic symptoms that adversely impact organizational work cultures and staff satisfaction and lead to burnout” (Werberg, 2010, para. 1).

1). Assessments made by leadership have a direct relation to many areas, including but not limited to the following: The quality of care provided, staff morale, and organizational reputation. As a trailblazer of your organization, you will use effective leadership skills to manage/avoid conflict, make effective recommendations, manage staff, and protect the overall quality/efficiency of the organization. To make effective decisions as a leader you should identify the major facts, indicate if or what problems exist, and finally, recommend a solution.

This assignment requires you to review a practical case study and analyze the elements of poor leadership. The case study also explores characteristics of a health care leader while introducing safety culture. Your assessment and responses to the realistic scenario should be based off leadership attributes.

Strategic Management Action Plan on Patient Safety in Hospitals

Introduction: For your project in this unit, you will be developing what is known as a strategic management action plan (MAP). When all the strategic planning is done, it is time for management action planning based upon our strategies. This is where many healthcare organizations of all types fall short. The same level of effort that went into creating the strategic plan needs to continue as we take action, measure progress, and reassess over time. Management action planning is a step-by-step approach develop ed to help healthcare leaders plan the action steps that will lead to positive change for our organizations.

The strategic plan sets the direction for us, and our MAPs get the work done, turning strategy into reality. Developing a MAP is a six-step process, and you will actually be practicing this MAP process as you create your project. Refer to the steps in your textbook for guidance. Some MAP topics are provide d here, and you are certainly free to propose your own topic. Perhaps you will choose something that truly needs to be addressed in your own organization. You may even find the MAP to be a valuable tool as you lead your own organization.

Suggested health care subjects include the topics listed below.

Please select one of these topics, or a topic of your own choosing. Focus on identified problems and improvement opportunities, key issues for planning, and implementation via your MAP components.

FIRSTLY, Nursing Recruitment and Retention in Health Care.

SECONDLY, Continuing Education Challenges.

THIRDLY, Patient Care Technology

FOURTHLY, Staff Safety on Duty.

FURTHER, Patient Safety in Hospitals.

ADDITIONALLY, Stakeholder Relationships.

MOREOVER, Community Education Programs.

FURTHERMORE, Disaster Preparedness.

ADDITIONALLY, Medical Director Involvement.

ALSO, Quality Improvement Program for Health Care.

BESIDES, Patient Satisfaction.

ALSO, Rural Health Issues.

LASTLY, Funding for Hospital Programs.

FINALLY, Neonatal/Pediatric Services.

Your project should be a minimum of three to four pages in length and should include a cover page and reference page (cover and reference pages do not count toward the minimum page requirement). You need to include at least one graph, table, or chart to identify, analyze, and interpret your data for key issues concerning your MAP components. Also, show how this information and technology supports your MAP components. To supplement your MAP, you should include at least four sources, one should be from the CSU Online Library, and you can include your textbook. References and citations must be provided using APA style.

The kairos of today is how much COVID-19 is impacting the economy

The kairos of today is how much COVID-19 is impacting the economy. We are gradually opening up the economy. However, the understanding is that these actions will lead to more COVID-19 cases. We are also paying a tremendous economic cost that will probably last for years because of the because of the “shelter at home” requirement.

As we gain control of the coronavirus cases, more of our economy will open. Each state is doing this differently. Some states have done little in terms of the “shelter at home” request from the federal government. You may want to look at what has happened in those states in terms of COVID-19 cases. California has decided to open in “stages”.

The debate is over how fast we should open up different parts of the economy.

In your discussion address the question should we sacrifice public health to stimulate the economy? (Remember this is the big question in An Enemy of the People.) Maybe handle the question in terms of “to what extent” in terms of opening up the economy and facing the public health crisis. What compromise should be reached? Please don’t be simplistic with this. People are losing jobs and business as a result of this debate, and people are losing lives as a result of this public health crisis.

You may want to look at other states that are seeing a growth of the virus. You may want to look at the spikes we have seen in COVID-19 cases after Memorial Day and Mother’s Day. Further, you may want to look at the consequences to small business, industry, and education as a result of the economic shutdown. You may want to look at infection rates. Also, people are already having this discussion if you would like to borrow ideas from them. Don’t regurgitate what other people are saying. Critically Think! Create your own solution!

Please refer to Post-Truth once in your response. Please refer to An Enemy of the People twice in your 300 word response

Zambia-led Prevention Initiative on HIV/AIDS program

This is a paper that is focusing on the Zambia-led Prevention Initiative on HIV/AIDS program. The paper also provides additional scenario to use in writing the assignment paper.

Zambia-led Prevention Initiative on HIV/AIDS program

Here is the scenario: You were just hired as a community health educator by FHI 360. FHI 360 works in more than 70 countries and is a major international nonprofit. FHI 360 is known for its expertise in family and reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS. Your assignment is located in Zambia to work on the Zambia-led Prevention Initiative (ZPI).

Your generic job duties are to provide both intimate partner violence prevention and HIV/AIDS community education in rural Zambia to at risk populations. At risk is define as rural Goba women, from the ages of 12 to 99 years old. As part of your job orientation, your employer was kind to have you read the document – ZAMBEZI GOBA. The reason you were given this article to read is because Chet to be the FHI 360 Zambian Country lead. Chet is now in academia and not affiliated with FHI 360. You do not have access to Chet anymore.

Read

You read the article, and FHI 360 has arranged for your travel to highlands town (e.g., Terrytown) with a population of 50,000 people. Terrytown is a former diamond mining town. You are the only FHI 360 employee in this highland town, Terrytown. That hotel room is your home and also your office. The health center is suspicious of your work, and does not want to collaborate with FHI 360.

Welcome to what it is like in public health! I have been in a similar situation. This is hard work. As part of your country orientation, your employer gave you a country profile to assist you with your job duties. In the last decade the Zambian highlands has repeatedly been a describe as area with high HV rates and intimate partner violence. The homicide rate reached an average of 55 murders per 50,000 people between 2000 and 2019, which is more than double the average rate for Zambia and more than three times the average global figure.

Zambia-led Prevention Initiative on HIV/AIDS program

According to Zambian national health data, HIV rates for Terrytown remain one of the lowest in Zambia. Moreover, half of Terrytown’s Goba women (49.3 per cent) consider crime and insecurity to be the main regional problem. In addition, in recent years a noticeable drop in intimate partner violence has been seen, but Terrytown’s health center health data indicate that HIV rates remain one of the highest in Zambia. That is odd, and I would ask why is that the case?

Key excerpts from your job description are: “The objective of your intimate partner violence prevention and HIV/AIDS community education program is to strengthen local capacities for the prevention and reduction of violence and HIV prevention. The Zambia-led Prevention Initiative (ZPI) is align with the Zambian government’s Five-year Development Plan and with the Municipal Plan for Coexistence and Citizen Security developed by the FHI 360.

The strategy was based around three main areas: Strengthening the capacity and effectiveness of regional rural civil society organizations to prevent and also reduce violence and HIV. Creating safe, sustainable and inclusive public spaces to contribute to the reconstruction of the social fabric of Terrytown. Increasing the capacities of young people in Terrytown municipality and their opportunities for personal and community development.”

Instructions: write a full 2-page reflective paper on the following questions: On your first day in Terrytown, what would you do? What strategies would you employ to collaborate with Terrytown’s health center? Why do you think there is a decrease of intimate partner violence? Why is there an increase of HIV locally? What public health core competencies would you rely on to do your job?
